Meet the Principals
Claire Keppie and Glyn Owen have run Drama Kids (formerly the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy) for over 20 years. We first met at East 15 Acting School in London and worked professionally in theatre, film, and TV before discovering our shared passion for teaching through Theatre in Education. Inspired by the confidence drama builds in young people, we returned to Edinburgh to open our own school. Since then, we’ve taught thousands of children in a fun, supportive environment where they grow in confidence and creativity. Our mission is simple: to help every child find their voice through the joy of drama.
Alongside our teaching, we both continue to work as professional actors. Most recently, Claire appeared in a Netflix series, and we have both featured in various television commercials. Our extensive experience in film, television, and theatre allows us to support and guide students who wish to pursue acting professionally in the future.
At Drama Kids, our mission is simple: to help every child find their voice, build their confidence, and realise their full potential through the joy of drama.
Our Teacher - Claire Jardine
We are incredibly fortunate to have had Claire Jardine as part of our teaching team for over sixteen years. During this time, she has made an enormous impact on countless students. Her background in dance and musical theatre, combined with her dedication, creativity, and genuine love of teaching, makes her an invaluable part of our Academy.
Claire is a truly outstanding teacher. Her lessons are always engaging and imaginative, and she has an exceptional ability to create a classroom environment that feels exciting, inclusive, and full of possibility, always encouraging even the shyest students to step into the spotlight. Known for her warmth and kindness, Claire goes above and beyond to ensure that every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

In 1979, Helen O’Grady started after-school drama classes in Perth, Australia with one simple aim: to help children grow in confidence and communication skills.
